End of Season
It is now the end of the season and our last club night will be on 25th April 2022. Have a good summer and lets hope next season is a little less traumatic..
Unfortunately we are at capacity with club membership at present but you are welcome to email me and arrange for a visit to see if we are what you are looking for to join in the future. We do charge £5 visitors fee but this is refunded if you eventually join.
Clubs Nights can resume with no restrictions
Step 4 of the Government’s roadmap sees all forms of badminton activity being permitted and the removal of restrictions on how many people can take part in sport and physical activity, indoors and outdoors.
I have booked courts commencing on Monday 6th September 8.00pm to 10.00pm.
Despite the lifting of restrictions, there are many challenges that exist along with some experiencing anxiety about returning to play without restrictions after such a long period of time. We will consider keeping some measures in place to alleviate initial fears about returning to play and follow any guidelines that Wave Leisure may require.
Face coverings are no longer required by law, but as there will be a number of players, in close proximity, sitting adjacent to the courts we will, initially, wear face coverings when not playing. Participants do not need to wear a face covering whilst playing.
The Club will continue to provide hand sanitisers for use after each game.
I will give you more details on keeping safe and club fees etc in the coming weeks.
Hope you have all kept fit and are ready to play.
We have recommenced club nights on a Monday Evening 8:30pm to 10:00pm at Lewes Leisure Centre. This is on a limited basis with just two groups of 6 players in line with Badminton England and Government guidelines. This is on a rotation basis to give all club members who want to return at this time a chance to play. As soon as it is safe to increase numbers we will happily invite new members to come along.
Following the Government's further relaxation of Covid restrictions Lewes Badminton Club is progressing Badminton England's Return to Play guidelines and are in the process of restarting club nights. Once we are confident that play can return safely we will publish further updates.
